complaints

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

I remember how my dad used to say, ‘Jangan mengeluh.’

I used to take his words for granted. I remembered thinking about how it is actually healthy and okay to complain, and about how the words that I said were not complain at all.

We tend to make excuses for ourselves a lot.

Nowadays a lot of things is happening all at once in KMS, and I find it very tempting to complain. Because you know, it feels nice to let stuff out of your chest and share your thoughts with others about how hard and demanding the current situation is. But then I realised something. I realised that complaining will only hinder my spirit to actually carry out the task. Complaining does not make you feel better; instead it droves a whole set of other emotions into you such as anger and disappointments. Complaining can lead to bad-mouthing someone behind their back. Complaining itself is a negative act and it does not in any way, lead to a positive result.

As such, I realised that complaining is a waste of time and energy.

I also realised that my dad was and is, right.

And that is why Allah taught us to be patient in all situations. A true patience does not leave any room for complaints to sneak in.
